Day 6 and 7 aboard a Princess cruise – the Love Boat!

Day 6 – At sea

The morning was busy with a vigorous zumba class and line dancing.  George attended the presentation to familiarize us with Ponta Delgado in the Azores, where we will be docking in a few days.

I checked out the jewelery shop while they were serving mimosas.  I can’t imagine how much the diamonds cost, but there were lots of serious shoppers.

George went to the Afternoon Tea, just to see what it was like….lots of cakes and pastries.

We sat at one of the bars and watched the bartender do a class on cocktails.  It was fun.

Later we listened to some violin music in the main piazza.

DINNER:  We arranged to meet and eat with the couple we met on the train from Bath.  It was nice to share dinner conversation with someone.  I had taboulleh salad and a slice of goat cheese quiche.  George had an artichoke dip, Caesar’s salad, and a seafood bowl.  Quite good.

We went to one of the ship’s nightclubs and listened to a good band.  Quite a few people danced – almost all Chinese!    You can tell that they have taken dance lessons as they are very serious.

Day 7 – At sea

We learned that we can eat breakfast and lunch in one of the private dining rooms, instead of the buffet, so we checked a lunch place out today.  It is nice to be waited on, and the selection was good.

Same routine – zumba, line dancing, art event, educational programs.  Today’s adventure….laundry!

DINNER:  For me – shrimp/scallop cocktail for appetizer and grilled salmon for dinner.  George had Indonesian satay for app, then salad, and cioppini for main course.  And a yummy dessert…

Instead of going to the theater for the main show, we went to the nightclub to listen to jazz with their guest jazz singer (excellent).  Later we went to another venue to dance, again with the Chinese.  One couple checked their smart watch after every dance to monitor their heart rate!  So funny!

BOOK:  “Ice Cold” by Tess Gerritsen.  Part of a series featuring a medical examiner and female detective.  Always reliably good.  4 stars out of 5
